Volunteer Interest: H.O.P.E. Foundation Feeding Ministry
Good Shepherd is committed to helping those experiencing homelessness and hunger in our community through our involvement with the H.O.P.E Foundation, Inc. (hopefdn.org). H.O.P.E.’s efforts aim to help restore faith and hope by Helping Others Pursue Excellence.
Good Shepherd is supporting our neighbors experiencing homelessness by preparing and serving meals one Sunday a month over the next six months (May – Oct. 2024). Volunteers will serve as part of a team, working together to plan and prepare a meal for about 60 recipients; a subset of the team will deliver those meals to 2-3 designated drop-off locations in the community on our appointed Sundays.
Our parish is committed to serving meals to approximately 60 of our neighbors on the following Sunday afternoons in 2024: 19 May, 16 June, 21 July, 18 August, 15 September, 13 October.
Each session will be led by an Outreach Committee member who will be present throughout the day to delegate and direct volunteers through the process. Grab a friend and join us in making a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors.

Below you will find information regarding the steps required to get involved in this exciting community partnership, as well as the fields to complete in order to submit your interest form to the Outreach Committee. Upon submission, you will receive an email response with details of next steps, as well as important contact information. We look forward to having you be a part of this important service work for our community!

Interested volunteers should next consider the type of volunteer experience you are interested in, considering number of hours per month you are available to volunteer. There are varying opportunities, some of which require a consistent commitment, others requiring less consistency and more of an “as needed” basis.
