NEST Alternative Christmas Gifts

Honor friends and relatives with gifts that allow them to help bring life and hope to persons in our community and around the world. If you send a donation in someone’s name, please be sure to provide these groups with clearly printed information about who you are, in whose name you are making the gift and addresses for both of you. This will help them send appropriate acknowledgements.

Ideas

First, look to your congregation. The Church of the Good Shepherd has many ongoing ministries.

NEST provides shelter in the cold winter months to homeless people. You give provides food and warm clothing to people down on their luck.

The ministers’ discretionary fund helps in very quiet and private ways. People’s emergency type needs pop up all the time and this fund allows the minister to act quickly and effectively.

Unrestricted General Donations allows the Vestry to allocate funds to the many ongoing ministries (Foreign Missions, Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Camps and many many others).

To Donate to any of the above make your check payable to The Church of the Good Shepherd and write on the note line "donation to…". Mail the check to The Church of the Good, 7400 Hampton Blvd., Norfolk, VA. 23505.
