Mannamakers is GREAT and yes, you should go!!! Now to the more thorough explanation.
Mannamakers started at Good Shepherd a very long time ago – no one can say exactly – but as many as twenty five or more years. MANNA is described in the Bible as “food miraculously provided by the Israelites in the wilderness during their flight from Egypt.” Others describe manna as something of value that a person receives unexpectedly. I suspect Mannamakers is exactly like that. People gathering together for food, nourishment, fun, value – surprises and things they did not expect in an evening together……..
At Good Shepherd it started out as young adults gathering on Friday evenings – a family hosting and everyone bringing a little bounty to enjoy themselves and to share. As I hear the stories, sometimes there have been themes, sometimes music, but always fun, refreshment, a strong sense of community, and MANNA. While intended for young adults – it now includes all adults and we truly hope you will find yourself at the home of Lucy and Lang Williams Friday, May 4th at 6:30 p.m. Their address is 1015 Manchester Avenue. SEE YOU THERE!!!
JUNE 5, 2012 10:00 A.M.
Each committee, group, neighborhood, or ad-hoc creative council, is being invited to create an arrangement or exhibit for the 2012 Good Shepherd Recreate Garden Tour. Each item must be made from recycled goods. No craft store shopping for this one!
This is a friendly competition and there will be experienced judges and trophies awarded!
Don’t miss it!
I have been reminded that on Easter, people volunteer to bring your favorite egg casserole or hot cross buns to enjoy breakfast as a church family between the two services (no Christian Education on that Sunday). If you would like to bring either an egg casserole or hot cross buns, please call BJ in the church office at 423-3230… We would greatly appreciate it.

Our Classic members had a lovely old fashioned St. Valentine’s Day luncheon after church. Lizzy Allen Davenport hosted with flowers, candy, decorations, and good cheer. Carolee Lewandowski cooked with help from Kathleen Redfern and Eleanor Harris. Vince Thomas, Cabel Thomas, Wren Thomas, Molly Martin, Rainy Kypros, Jimmy Peccie, Rolf Williams and Peyton Hope served lunch and delicious cupcakes made by Kelsey Williams. Ben Blanchard played music while the Classics entertained us as they sang classic tunes from the silver screen. A good time was had by all.
Thank you to all who participated.
The Classics of Good Shepherd (those 70 and above) are invited to a Valentine luncheon immediately following the 10:00 a.m. service on February 12th, 2012 in Memorial Hall.

Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body the Church. It is a public statement of one’s intentional decision to follow the way of Jesus. In the case of infant baptism, it is the parents’ declaration of their intent to raise a child in the way of Jesus. The bond which God establishes in Baptism is indissoluble, so baptism is only administered once. When you choose to be baptized yourself or to have your child baptized in the Episcopal Church, it means you are choosing to live out the Baptismal Covenant the context of an Episcopal church community, taking your part in the worship, mission and ministries of the parish.
I Will With God’s Help.
